Things you can pay for a GOLF OUTING SPONSORSHIPS, GOLF OUTING players fees, NFL Helmet Raffle Tickets, Window Decals, ect. Riddell (our helmet provider) has agreed to DONATE a PRO LINE HELMET(FULL SIZE, AUTHENTIC) for raffle to be given away at our Golf Outing($400.00 value)! This is GREAT of them, and we would all like to thank Kyle Fenn(our RIDDELL rep) for this generous donation to our club!

We are NOW selling tickets for the raffle at $10.00 per ticket(you can buy more than 1 entry) and $15.00 at the door day of golf outing. Even though you see a GIANTS helmet, you will get to pick any NFL team you wish! This would be a great addition to your NFL viewing area or your man cave!  You can purchase as many entires as you would like!

The following message is being sent on behalf of the Gridiron Board:

We ask that you forward this to any other concerned parents or Booster Clubs as the tide appears to be changing against Vestal School Sports. We urge you to voice your opinion ASAP on the schools website (Survey link is above for your convenience).

Last year Athletics had to cut over $100,000 from the budget. Besides cutting busing, participation in tournaments and contests out of section IV and STAC, team practice and prep time-ability to use the buildings and facilities both on and off season, equipment, and paid coaching staff, we also lost a modified volleyball and football team, and a JV cheer team. This year Athletics are slated to be cut by at least an additional $25,000.

The superintendent has made it well known that he is in favor of cutting out additional teams as well as entire levels of teams (EX. all jv teams or all modified teams). Based on the school website survey results to date that we were shown at the meeting, many of those who have already completed the electronic budget survey were in favor of making more cuts to the athletic budget.

This means that those of us who value athletics for our children need to speak up and make our opinions known. Jen Wegmann and many others did this for us last year and we do believe that it had an impact as the Bowling team was reinstated. We are asking that everyone be vocal this year as well. We would also suggest that you all please encourage everyone to complete the budget questionnaire on the Vestal school district website (Click link above to go directly to survey). Please be sure to include specific comments in regards to the value you place on athletics and where you think other cuts can be made. Please do not pit other extracurricular groups ( ie. clubs or music or art) against sports as that hurts the kids as well. Be sure to mention that if athletics are significantly cut in our district but are not cut in other local districts, that families would seriously consider moving out of the district.

The superintendent also mentioned that Booster Clubs may be called upon to help pay for things that the school can no longer cover. Remember however that donations from individuals or businesses would need to be made to booster clubs who would then turn around and donate "needed items" to the school. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter, the time to act is now.
